We won a trophy in 2010 for best looking car at Cherry Raceway This was very exciting for us. We strive to be very professional and have the best looking car all the time. We carry spare panels to make sure that we look good every time we are on the track. This not only is professional but it also keeps our sponsors readable on the car. We have had many comments on the car over the last few years. What this means to me is that people are looking at the car which means they are looking at your company logo. The haul rig, a 1977 Bluebird, also gets us noticed which in turn gets the sponsors noticed. I want to thank Thirlby Automotive, Butch Strait Inspections, Total Trans Mission, and the Hobby Shop for their support over the years. I would also like to give a special thanks to Race signs for their design and support. Thirlby Automotive and Race signs and The Hobby Shop are original sponsors from our street stock days. This will be our 17th season racing. We are almost ready to start the 2011 season. The car is in the garage getting a new body, polishing the wheels, checking the brakes, and making sure everything moves easy. The engine is getting new valve springs, and a new carburetor. We found out last season that the old carburetor did not work well with the bigger motor. We barrowed one from Brandon Thirlby (M14) and finished 5th in the Corn Harvest race at Mid Michigan at the end of the year. This race was a 3 day event and had several track champions in the race. We also learned that we have too many adjustments on the car, for us. If you recall we updated the car with the 2010 GRT rear suspension 4 link mounts which added twice as many adjustments and we also added new bird cages with 3 times the adjustments as the old ones. It took most of the season to get the car to handle half way decent. I do believe we have this problem fixed. We picked up 3 more sponsors, 3 wide media, Race Fan Nation, and Dirt Digz. We are very excited about them coming on board. These sponsors are a cost per action sponsor. What that means is that we get a percentage of the sales when someone buys there product or service and uses our code. Our code is BSR79.
We have purchased a larger trailer for this season. The old trailer was a homemade 20 ft enclosed. The new one is a 2001 united 30’ enclosed trailer with cabinets and a work bench and places to carry more parts. I am sure that we will get noticed with the 1977 bluebird and the new trailer we definitely will be one the longer haul rigs at the track. We are hoping to get the trailer painted black to match the Bluebird but that is after we get the car ready to go. We are planning on traveling a little more this year to some of the tracks we ran at 2 years ago. There is also a new track down by Bay City that is opening the end of May that we want to try. The world of Outlaw late models will be at Winston on August 19th and at Merritt on August 20th. These racers are the ones that you see on TV. If you have not seen them live you need too.
